Dave Crockett, Creator of Beyond Chess

Dave Crockett learned chess from his father when he was 12.

As a Marine, he created the concept of a movable board to more closely reflect modern warfare and take chess to a whole new level never before seen.

Dave believes chess should be about strategy in its purest form. Being able to memorize moves from a book may help you win games, but it's not a true gauge of ones personal ability to command a real combat environment.

A true test of one's personal ability is to play in an ever changing environment in which you must think, analyze and adapt using your own creative mind.

Dave's most memorable chess experience was playing Beyond Chess with fellow Marines in Iraq.

Dave Crockett is a proud member of the U.S. Chess Federation, an avid chess player, and would rather loose to a better player than play an easy game just to win.
